Meet at 7:00 am (depart at 7:15) at the Paradise Bakery near the SW corner of the 101 Freeway and Scottsdale Road (7000 E. Mayo Blvd, Phoenix 85254).

Join us for a 4X4 journey through magnificent desert scenery out to Sheep Bridge on the Verde River. In addition to being a beautiful area, Sheep Bridge is on the National Register of Historic Places.

Both 4X4 vehicles and SUVs with high ground clearance are suitable for this adventure. Please call Larry if you have questions about your vehicle, or if you want to a ride in someone’s 4X4.

Our route is driving north on Scottsdale Road to the town of Cave Creek, and then driving north on Seven Springs Road (FR24) to FR 269 where we turn right to go southeast to Sheep Bridge.

For those interested in a quick dip, there’s a soaking tub and hot spring just to the north of the bridge on the west shore of the Verde River. It's a nice shady place to relax under an archway of willows.

On the return trip, we’ll stop for a late lunch and libations in Cave Creek.

Wear comfortable boots and clothing. Bring sunscreen, plenty of water, and snacks. If you plan to ride with one of the 4X4 drivers, bring $ for the carpool. Children and dogs are welcome, if you are a driver.

Cost to non-members is $5.

This event will be canceled if there is inclement weather in the forecast.
