Meet at 7:30 am (depart at 7:45) at the Burger King, just south of US 60 at the NE corner of Power Road and Superstition Springs Blvd. OR meet at Peralta Trailhead parking lot at 8:30 am (at the end of Peralta Rd. off Highway 60).

We will hike clockwise starting on the Bluff Springs Trail 235 and return on the Dutchman Trail 104 for a full loop hike. The plan is to be on trail at about 8:45 am and exit at about 4 pm. Barks Canyon is named after Jim Bark, who was involved in the Barkley Basin/Circle U ranching operations nearby in 1891, the year Jacob Waltz, the Lost Dutchman, died. Bluff Spring Mountain has been extensively searched for clues of the Lost Dutchman's gold in the last century. The area had some mining operations, and the Ely Anderson Trail still exists from long before the land was settled and Mexican mule trains were used to haul out the ore.

Bring plenty of water, snacks, lunch, hiking boots, and $ for carpool.

Cost to non-members is $5. Only guests and new members need to contact the hike leader prior to the hike.
