Meet at 6:45 am (depart at 7:00) at the Park-and-Ride, SW corner of I-17 and Bell Rd, next to Denny’s.

Bear Mountain Trail is a favorite of Sedona residents and visitors alike because the views from the top of Bear Mountain are as good as any in the Red Rock Country. There are several challenging uphill climbs with a short rock scramble for added enjoyment. We’ll do a partial loop, leaving the main trail part-way up and hiking a faint trail to a beautiful battleship mountain-type overlook of Fay Canyon, where we’ll stop for a snack. We’ll then scramble up a slope (easy bushwhacking) and reconnect with the Bear Mountain Trail. After summiting, we’ll return on the main Bear Mountain Trail. This is a lollipop loop hike.

Wear sturdy hiking boots, have rain gear (just in case), sunscreen, and bring 2-3 quarts of water, snacks, and lunch.

Non-members - $5 fee and non-members must call the hike leader before the hike.
