Meet at 7:00 am (depart 7:15) in the Fry’s parking lot on the south side of Shea Blvd., just east of the Rte. 101 exit, or alternately at 8:00 am at the Spur Cross Recreational Area Parking Lot. We’ll carpool to Spur Cross and from there head out on this out-and-back hike on this little-hiked trail in Cave Creek.

The trail is generally rocky (it’s in Arizona), and in some cases when approaching the summit fairly steep. From the summit, the views are magnificent across the Cave Creek valley toward (and down onto) Skull Mesa. Great views also of Elephant Mountain and Sugarloaf Mountain, as well as the entire Cave Creek Recreation Area. We’ll end the day with an option for dinner in Cave Creek.

Please wear sturdy hiking boots, rain gear if appropriate, and bring plenty of water and food for snacks and lunch. Cost to non-members is $5. Maricopa County Park fee is $3 per hiker. No dogs or children please.
