Meet at 8:30 am (depart 8:45) at the Holiday Inn at the southwest corner of US-60 and Country Club Road in Mesa. We’ll carpool to the Peralta trailhead. In addition to expansive views of the Superstition Wilderness, this classic desert hike features great views of Miners Needle and Weavers Needle. We’ll hike east on Dutchman Trail, climb to the saddle below Miners Needle, and then continue on to the junction with Bluff Springs Trail. After climbing up to the junction with Terrapin Trail, we’ll eat lunch while enjoying views of Peralta Canyon and Weavers Needle before continuing back to the trailhead. Wear sturdy hiking boots and wide- brimmed hat or sunglasses. Bring a rain jacket, snacks, lunch, and plenty of water. There are several steep sections of trail, so hiking sticks are recommended. Cost to non-members is $5. Guests and new members should contact the hike leader prior to the hike.
