A LENGTH: 33 mi ELEV GAIN: same

Meet at 9:00 am (depart 9:15) at the Bashas in Carefree (36889 N. Tom Darlington Drive).

Join Bill and Peggy for a beautiful ride in the Continental Foothills from Carefree to the turnaround spot of Tonto Hills Subdivision (Old Mine Road) and back down to the cars. This will be a loop ride with an option to meet us at our favorite coffee/breakfast/lunch spot in Cave Creek, The Grotto. We will ride mostly on back roads we have used for the last 15 years, past the Bartlett Lake turn off to Tonto Hills. For those that want a shorter ride, around 25 miles, Peggy will lead you back to the car park, and then you can drive to The Grotto for coffee and such. For those that want some extra miles, Bill will take you down and around “the mountain” (Black Mountain), and up Cave Creek Rd, into the town of Cave Creek, to The Grotto (6501 E. Cave Creek Rd.). After coffee, you will ride just a mile or two back to your cars, or hitch a ride with a buddy.

Bring plenty of water, helmet, snacks and appropriate clothing for the weather. Please remember that we are generally 10 degrees cooler than the valley. Please call if you have questions. $5 fee for non-members, can be applied to membership dues.
