Meet at 8:00 am (depart at 8:15) at Wendy's in Fountain Hills on Shea Blvd., just west of the Beeline Highway.

This is a casual 4X4 run with occasional stops, photo ops, and a side trip to visit cliff dwellings. We will drive to the Four Peak’s turn-off on Hwy 87. There we can re-group and then proceed on the dirt road easterly summiting Four Peaks where it intersects with El Oso Road. El Oso Road travels down the east side of Four Peaks with great views of Roosevelt Lake and the surrounding area. From there it’s a short drive over to Roosevelt Dam where we will take a 4 mile side trip for a visit to Tonto National Monument ($3 per person) and a optional short walk on a paved trail to the cliff dwellings. On the return we drive westerly on the old Apache Trail, past Apache and Canyon lakes and ending at historic Tortilla Flat, mid-afternoon for food or snacks while listening to live music.

Not too technical but requires 4X4 with adequate clearance. Fill up the tank and come out for a fun day. The adventure will be canceled if the weather or roads are bad. Call Leaders to sign up and with any questions regarding vehicle suitability, room for riders, etc. Bring sunscreen, hat, boots, plenty of water, snacks and $ for carpool. Children, well behaved outdoor dogs are welcome. Cost to non-members is $5.
