Meet at 7:30 am (depart 7:45) at the Park-and-Ride on the south side of Bell Rd., just west of I-17.

Our hike, in the Cave Creek Recreation Area, combines the two most popular trails in the park and starts out relatively flat before climbing and descending over a few small passes. We will actually be hiking the ridgeline around the tallest peak in the park that stands at 3,060 feet. At around the 5 mile point, we will intersect with the Clay Mine Trail that we can take as an optional add on - which will add approximately 1.5 miles to our hike and ends at an abandoned mine. If our timing is good, we will see some spring flowers.

Wear sturdy hiking boots, bring your cameras, a minimum of 2 quarts of water, snacks, and wear either a hat/visor, and lather up with sunscreen! There is a $6 per vehicle entry fee for the park.

Cost to non-members is $5. Only guests and new members need to contact the hike leader prior to the hike.
