Meet at 7 am (depart at 7:15) at the SE side of Denny's parking lot, SW corner of I-17 and Bell Road.

We’ll carpool to the trailhead in the Granite Mountain Wilderness near Prescott. Beginning in a forest, vegetation along the trail soon transitions to bushes, cacti, agave, and yucca plants. Large granite boulders appear as the land opens to nice views of Little Granite Mountain. The trail switchbacks up the southern slopes of Granite Mountain to the summit, partially covered by ponderosa pines. We’ll eat lunch at the viewpoint atop a group of large granite boulders. Wear sturdy boots, sunscreen, and a wide-brimmed hat. Bring lunch, snacks, and plenty of water. Cost to non-members is $5.
