Happy Hour at San Marcos Resort in the 1912 Lounge – located at One San Marcos Place (Chandler) at the SW corner of Buffalo Street and Arizona Avenue In 1912, Arizona traded in its territorial status to become the 48th state. It was the same year Dr. Alexander J. Chandler founded the small town southeast of Phoenix that bears his name. It was also the year that Dr. Chandler began building his dream... an oasis in the desert, a resort that would tempt the rich and famous from all over the world to return to Chandler, Arizona, year after year. He named the resort San Marcos after Friar Marcos DeNiza, who is said to have visited the Chandler area in 1539 while searching for the mythical "Seven Cities of Cibola." The 1912 Lounge has several appetizers for $6 - sweet & spicy chicken wings, chips and salsa, philly cheesesteak sliders, house salad, duo of downtown burger sliders, parmesan-truffle fries and a grilled and chilled shrimp cocktail duo. The resort also has a nice dining room (AJ's) and there are 15 other restaurants in the downtown Chandler area if you would like to stay for dinner after the happy hour.
