Meet at 6:15 am (depart at 6:30) at Wendy's in Fountain Hills, Shea Blvd. just west of Highway 87 (Beeline).

We're switching gears and moving this week's Wednesday South Mountain hike to higher and cooler ground. The Highline Trail, beginning at the 260 Trailhead east of Payson, has been revamped and is 'almost' rock free - which means we can look at the beautiful views of Rim Country along the way instead of watching our feet. We'll hike 4.35 miles, one way, to the junction of the Highline and Drew trails. If you are feeling energetic, we can add an optional 2.5 miles and 900 feet elevation gain (RT) by hiking the Drew Trail up to the top of the Rim before heading back to our cars.

Bring 2-3 liters of water and salty snacks.

PLEASE EMAIL EITHER LEADER WITH YOUR PHONE NUMBER IF YOU PLAN TO PARTICIPATE, IN CASE WE NEED TO CANCEL AT THE LAST MINUTE DUE TO MONSOONS OR EXTREME HEAT ON THE DAY OF THE HIKE.

Cost to non-members is $5. Guests and new members should contact the hike leader prior to the hike.
