This is the perfect opportunity to make it to Arizona's highest point (12,643 ft) or saddle (11,800 ft) with minimal monsoon threats. We will ascend and descend on the Humphries Summit Trail, beginning at the Arizona Snow Bowl ski area at 9300 ft. This is a long, steep hike that will take us 4 miles to reach the saddle.  Those wishing to add an extra 2 miles and 800 feet elevation gain, weather permitting, can proceed on to Humphries Peak. Once above timberline, there is no shelter and no protection from the elements.

Be prepared for extreme mountain weather on this hike. Bring warm clothing and rain gear. Also bring plenty of water, sunscreen, electrolytes, high energy snacks, lunch, and wear sturdy hiking boots.

We’ll be stopping in Flagstaff for something to eat after the hike.

Bring $ for carpool.

Cost to non-members is $5.
