This event has been canceled.

Meet at 9:00 am (depart at 9:15) at the McDonalds on the Carefree Hwy., just east of I-17. Trail access - typical bumpy dirt road. It might be good to have a high- clearance vehicle, but 4WD not needed. $6 per car fee. The top of the mesa is spacious and has a commanding view of the river valley and Lake Pleasant below, plus the surrounding desert, mesas and hills. The ruins have about a dozen rooms with walls still intact (built sometime between A.D. 800 and 1150). We'll have lunch or snack on top of the mesa. Bring water and sunscreen. We hike across the Agua Fria River first thing. Water shoes, spare socks and hiking sticks are recommended, although there's a good chance no water will be in the river. Cost to non-members is $5.
