Meet at 8:30 am (depart 8:45) at the McDonalds on Carefree Highway, just east of I-17. We will carpool to the parking area near the trailhead off Table Mesa Road. There is a $6 per vehicle entry fee.

Decompress from the holidays with this charming hike to a 1,000-year-old Hohokam Pueblo ruin near the northern shores of Lake Pleasant. The hike is an easy flat 3 miles until you get your cardio workout with a 400-foot, ½-mile ascent to the top of the mesa and the ruin. The mesa spans about six acres and rewards the hiker with spectacular 360 degree views of Lake Pleasant and the surrounding area. The ancient village atop the mesa may have housed around 100 people and some of the ruin walls still stand about five feet high. Return via the same route.

Wear sturdy hiking boots, a wide brimmed hat, and sunglasses. Bring snacks and plenty of water.

Cost to non-members is $5. Guests and new members should contact the hike leader prior to the hike.
