Mount Baldy Loop Hike (Greer)
Meet at 7:30 am at the East Baldy Trailhead (Trail #95) in Greer. Call hike leader to confirm and for details, including driving directions, carpool arrangements, and possible lodging choices in Greer or Pinetop/Lakeside. This is one of Arizona’s premier hikes.
We’ll start off on the Crossover Trail (#96), ascend on the West Baldy Trail (#94), and descend on the East Baldy Trail (#95). It’s a long loop, but the trails are great – soft, generally gradual ascent and descent along serene streams and deep pine forests.
There are beautiful views of the White Mountains, great rock formations, mountain meadows, and an interesting 1940’s plane crash site along the way. Those wishing a shorter hike can experience most of this on an in-and-out hike along Trail #95. Cost to non-members is $5.
