A LENGTH: ~11 miles ELEV GAIN: 2,500 ft PACE: Medium

Meet at the Denny's on W. Bell just West of I-17 at 6:45 am (depart 7:00).

This mostly off-trail hike takes us from Aspen Corner on the Ariz. Snow Bowl Road (9,000') to the seldom-visited Philamena Springs on the northwest corner of the San Francisco Peaks (11,400'). The first 2.8 miles is on the Arizona Trail and then the fun begins!!! Expect steep slogging with much climbing around, and through, fallen timber. Some of the walk is EXTRA steep! Also expect to hike around lingering patches of snow. The view from the Springs is outstanding and well worth the effort. The leader has seen Deer, Elk, wild Turkey and the occasional Black Bear on this hike in the past.

No dogs or children. Cost to non-members is $5.
