Meet at 11:00 am (depart at 11:15) at the south end of the Kohl's parking lot just south of the 202 San Tan Freeway at Arizona Ave. and Willis.

Picacho Peak is located off I-10 between Casa Grande and Tucson. We will take the Hunter Trail, described as 1.5 Camelbacks, to the summit (3373 ft.). If you are afraid of heights or exposure or have vertigo, this hike is not for you. Leather gloves are required for the cables that you will use to pull yourself up or your hands may turn to pulp. Adequate hiking boots are also required. The exhilaration of the climb, great views and maybe a National Guard fly-over more than make up for the effort. We'll share the State Park entrance fee of $7 per vehicle. No dogs or children please. Hike will be canceled in case of rain. Cost to non-members is $5.
