Join us on the newest trail in Pine. It was just completed in March 2016 and so far it isn't too crowded with other hikers or bikers.

We will begin our hike at the top of Pine Mountain, just north of Strawberry. The beginning of the hike is down, down, down on steep, rocky switchbacks, but after a mile it levels off and we will hike among the trees and ferns. One mile past Parsnip Springs, a lush area of the hike, we will cross the brand new Bear Foot Bridge, which is the gateway to the Barefoot Trail. The Barefoot Trail meanders through desert landscaping with rolling ups and downs. We'll hike this trail to the very end, which winds up on the Beeline Hwy, just north of Pine.

Our hike will involve a car shuttle.

After the hike we can stop at a local restaurant/pub (optional) before we head back to the valley.

Hiking sticks and sturdy hiking boots are highly recommended for the switchbacks on Pine Mountain.

Bring a minimum of 3 liters of water and salty snacks/light lunch.

Cost to non-members is $5.
