Meet at 7:00 am at the Dome Mountain Trailhead in the Goldfield Mountains. Directions to Dome Mountain Trailhead: Traveling east on Brown Rd. (renamed Lost Dutchman Blvd. in Apache Junction), turn north on Idaho Road, turn right on McKellips Rd., 0.5 miles turn left on Wolverine Pass Rd., 0.9 miles turn right on Tonto St. (pavement ends), 0.2 miles turn left on Cactus Rd., 0.1 mile turn right on McDowell and in 0.2 miles park at the trailhead, where FS 10 is blocked by a locked iron gate.

This section of the Goldfield Mountains contains colorful rock formations, rugged peaks, and interesting boulders and cliffs. We'll hike past a huge boulder that has been given the unofficial name of Pumpkin Rock. The Great Pumpkin or The Face are names that I've read that other hikers have used. From the Blue Ridge area, we'll have a scenic 360 degree view of the area, including the Superstitions. Most of the hike will be on a trail or an old road.

Warning: there are a couple of steep and rocky sections, so hiking sticks are recommended. Also bring plenty of water, hiking boots, hat, and sunscreen.

Cost to non-members is $5.

Only guests and new members need to contact the hike leader prior to the event.
