Our hike starts on the Pine Trailhead, just south of the town of Pine. The first mile to mile and a half is relatively flat and forested - actually it's quite beautiful. BUT - and you knew there had to be a but - we quickly start our ascent through Manzanita and Pinyon Pines towards the top of the rim.

Along the way we'll pass a few scenic lookout points where we can take a quick breather before continuing our trek. Our destination is a small spring where we can relax in the grass while eating lunch and taking a quick break before heading back the same trail to our vehicles.

Hiking boots and sticks suggested due to the steep, rocky terrain. Bring lunch, salty snacks, and 2-3 quarts of water.

Cost to non-members is $5.
