Meet at 7:30 am (depart at 7:45) at the Holiday Inn by the Country Club Drive exit of Route 60 in Mesa.

We’ll carpool to the Peralta Trail parking area, and from there head out on this beautiful loop hike in the Superstitions, which includes a flat approach on the Lost Gold Mine Trail, steep and difficult ascent up Carney Springs, scenic traverse on the ridgeline to Robber’s Roost, and challenging descent via Fremont Saddle and the (Geronimo) Cave Trail, with an option to head down from Fremont Saddle on the easier Peralta Trail.

Robber’s Roost itself is a wonderful and well hidden rock playground, where we’ll stop for lunch. Great views of Superstitions rock formations and panoramas all along the hike, but be prepared for a steep descent on slick rock going down the Cave Trail.

Please wear sturdy hiking boots, rain gear if appropriate, and bring plenty of water and food for snacks and lunch. Cost to non-members is $5. No dogs or children please.
