Meet at 6:30 am (depart at 6:45) at the NE corner of Jackrabbit and Hayden Roads.

The City of Tempe is replacing the inflatable rubber dam at the west end of Tempe Town Lake (the same one that gave out a few summers ago) with a new hydraulically-operated steel gate dam. Construction of the project is well under way and scheduled to be completed by the end of the year.

We’ll follow the greenway from Scottsdale down to and around Tempe Town Lake, getting an up-close view of the project and giving civil engineers (like one of the co-leaders) a near-orgasmic experience. After looping the lake, we’ll return on the same Greenway route back to our starting point.

Bring plenty of water and snacks. Helmets are required. There is a $5 fee for non-members.
