Meet at 7:15 am (depart 7:30) at the Park-and-Ride just east of Denny's at the southwest corner of the Bell Road exit to I-17.

This is a strenuous hike that takes you up a steep serene canyon over a high saddle and down to Vultee Arch. The climb is steep right from the start and gains over 1,100 feet in just over a mile. Mossy grey rocks, thick stands of trees and trails carpeted with leaves and pine needles offer a pleasant change. The top offers a wide-angle view of the canyon you've just climbed and limited vistas further west down Vultee Canyon.

We will then continue down to the Vultee Arch Trail where we hang a right to the Arch.

Wear sturdy hiking boots and bring plenty of water, electrolytes, snacks, sack lunch, and cash for carpool. Bring rain gear, just in case. Bring sunscreen and a hat.

Cost to non-members is $5, and non-members must call one of the hike leaders in advance.
