Superstition Ridgeline Hike

Don Mowry -
Cat Colby
A+ LENGTH: 12 mi ELEV GAIN: 5000 ft PACE: (Cat-fast, Don-fairly fast)

As always, there is a signup because of the difficulty of this hike. The leaders are climbing up either Siphon Draw or Carney Springs. This year, we’re doing a key exchange with Cat’s and Don’s group starting at opposite trailheads. Depending on your speed and fitness level, we’ll determine which leader you’ll accompany and we’ll need to make the count fairly even because of vehicle capacity. The Superstition Ridgeline is wilderness because there’s a lot of (non technical) climbing involved and there’s a faint trail or just cairns. We’ll be climbing and descending the entire day. The Ridgeline offers majestic views of canyons and valleys that you won’t see anywhere else. Bring sunscreen, good hiking boots, rain gear, plenty of energy food, lunch and layers of warm clothing, and it’s wise to plan on four liters of water and electrolytes. Of course, no dogs or children are allowed. Email Don if you’re interested. Paid up AzOTC members have first choice on the slots. There is a fifteen hiker (including leaders) limit and it fills up quickly. Cost to non-members is $5.
