C+ LENGTH: 4–6 mi ELEV GAIN: 600+ ft PACE: Slow

Meet at 8:00 am (depart at 8:15) behind the McDonald's at Carefree Highway & I-17.

This hike takes you to a natural arch. The trail goes through a burned area and is rocky and unmaintained in some areas. It is a relatively easy to moderate hike to view the arch. It is a scramble to get to the arch so be careful if you attempt this.

Vultee Arch is named after Gerald and Sylvia Vultee who crashed their plane and died nearby in 1938. There is a plaque dedicated to them near the arch.

HIGH CLEARANCE VEHICLES REQUIRED (4x4 preferred). Call leaders to inquire about your vehicle or to arrange rides. If time permits we will hike up to Devil’s Bridge and stop for Mexican food in Camp Verde.

Bring lunch/snacks and plenty of water. Hike will be canceled in case of rain. Cost to non-members is $5.
