C+ LENGTH: ~ 6.8 mi ELEV GAIN: ~700 ft PACE: Medium

Meet at 7:00 am (depart at 7:15) at the Park-and-Ride on the south side of Bell Rd., just west of I-17.

Yes, I've scheduled this hike twice & it’s been rained out both times! We will carpool to the Woodchute Trailhead located just past the Potato Patch Campground on the top of Mingus Mountain. The August & September dates were to escape Valley heat – October will be to experience AZ's fall colors. This trail offers a moderately short, not too strenuous hike beginning at 7,000 ft through cool mountain meadows and open forests of pine and juniper. And the view from our turnaround point at the north end of Woodchute Mountain is magnificent!

Expect to stop for lunch & libations afterwards at Prescott Valley’s Taqueria Guadalajara Mexican Restaurant. Bring sunscreen, hat, boots, plenty of water, snacks and $$ for carpool. Children, well behaved outdoor dogs are welcome. Hike canceled if it rains. Cost to non-members is $5.
